Amitabh Bacchan is also widely known as Big B, Angry Young Man, Munna, etc. He is regarded as the ultimate Bollywood super star. He was born at Allahabad in Uttar Pradesh as the elder son of famous Hindi poet late Harivansh Rai Bachchan. He had done his studies from Sherwood College, Nainital and Kirori Mal College, Delhi University. In early days of his career, he shifted to Kolkata for working in a shipping firm Shaw Wallace Company. However, later his acting zeal moved him to Mumbai only to become the greatest star of the Indian Cinema.
The journey of Amitabh Bachhan was never easy and he overcame lots of hurdles. Initially, no directors and producers showed their interest in him as he was tall with dark complexion. He was considered as misfit for the role of lover boy. Hi first movie was “Saat Hindustani” which won him first National Film Award as Best Newcomer. His first megahit movie was “Zanjeer” in 1973 and it lifted the career of Amitabh Bachchan and established him as the “angry young man” of Bollywood. He ruled the box office for next one decade where he gave hit after hit every year. His famous movies of that decade include “Deewaar “, “Muqaddar Ka Sikander “, “Don “, “Sholay “, “Trishul “, “Kasme Vaade “, “Ram Balram “, “Shaan “, “Kaala Patthar “, “Mr. Natwarlal”, “, “Lawaaris ” and “Shakti “.
